ABOUT VANS
Vans SHOP
This is the unusual story of how Vans began. On the 16th of March, 1966, Paul Van Doren and his three business partners opened their very first store in Anaheim, California. The concept of the Van Doren Rubber Company was absolutely unique in that it manufactured shoes that were sold directly to the public. On the very first morning, 12 customers bought shoes that were produced that same day and ready to be picked up in the afternoon; the Vans #44 deck shoes, now known as the Authentic, were born. Although the company went through many ups and downs, they accompanied an entire generation of skateboarders with their robust Vans Skateshoes and developed into an incredibly successful organization.
Today, the Vans collections range from Vans Shoes and Vans Shoes Women all the way to Vans Streetwear Men und Vans Streetwear Women. Skateboarders love Vans and can even rock the stylish brand in winter thanks to the Vans Snowwear Men and Vans Snowboardboots.Even the little things like Vans Accessories and Vans Accesoires Women make a huge fashion statement. But Vans has also accomplished a lot in the development and support of action sports athletes. In 1996, the firm became a sponsor for the first Triple Crown of Skateboarding event and a year later, Vans became an organizer of this world-leading event series for action sports and bought rights for the Triple Crown of Surfing. In 2000, the Vans Triple Crown series already included events in skateboarding, BMX, surfing, wakeboarding, snowboarding, freestyle motocross and supercross.
